    Hearty Soup

I love all things Autumn (did I mention that yet? 😋)…

And one thing I especially love about Autumn is cooking. Sundays are usually a roast dinner affair – homemade bread sauce, Yorkshires I make from scratch, all the trimmings… anyway. Sadly, work lunches don’t allow for so much delicious food, but I love a good staple soup and one of my all time favourites is the Sweet Potato Curry soup.

    Yawn*

You know that feeling, when you’ve had *the* shower – you’ve exfoliated, shaved, moisturised and tanned? Admittedly, this is the type of extensively indulgent time I only bother with if I have an event or similar (attractive, I know), but once you’ve done all of that, the next, natural step is to slip into something super comfy, right?

    Bailiffs Court

Oh hi! I’ve had a little blogging break – mainly because work and life have been so hectic, and I decided I’d get straight back on to it after an amazingly luxurious stay at Bailiffs Court Hotel and Spa. You’ll be familiar with Ockenden Manor (posts here and here) if you’re a regular reader, but this trip was mine and H’s first trip to one of the other hotels in the Historic Sussex Hotels family.

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things 🍂🍁

I love the turn of this season. I was a little Summer-saturated if I’m honest; sure the sun was nice, but the stifling heat, being stuck in an office, my diet essentially just becoming ‘Ice Cream’… I’ve always been a lover of all things Autumn / Winter, but there’s something about that tipping point, where the sun sets on August, and we’re blown steadily into crisp and cold mornings.

    Books That Changed My Life

Oh The Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss.
An old friend gave me this book when I was about 19 and told me to ‘look for the deeper meaning’. I sat, curled up on my bed, a little lost in life and reached for this book. There are so many beautiful quotes, which really can act as a little ‘How To Do Life’ reminds – things like “Those who mater don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter” or one of my particular favourites  “You’re off to great places, today is your day! Your mountain is waiting – so get on your way!”. It’s a beautiful book and one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve received – I’ve since given it to some of the most special people in my life, and I always revert to this when I come a little unstuck in my life…

    Wimbledon

Every May/June, I get restless. I usually channel this restlessness into a list of things I want to do in the summer. Kind of a summer-to-do list; mainly because I’m a sucker for the satisfaction of putting a thick red line through an item once it’s complete.
