Over the years, Christmas for me has really changed – from my older siblings growing up and having children – and therefore Christmasses – of their own, to having all of those siblings and the little ones back for Christmas which I just love. In recent years, however, a new tradition has emerged…
I moved to London, and into a house with strangers who I thought would ‘just be roommates’, only to stumble up on the best group of friends I could ask for – I guess it’s true what they say, you never find true love until you aren’t looking for it – but more on that, and less of the soppiness, later!
We all love Christmas, and get excited from about October onwards – yep, we’re those people! This year marks our first Christmas in our new house which has made it extra exciting and special. I’ll be doing some other Christmassy posts, but I just wanted to share a quick photo diary of our trip to purchase and decorate our tree.
We retrieved the decorations from the cellar, spruced up our living room and plotted out the perfect place for the tree to sit.
Then we took a little wonder just to the outskirts of Hammersmith, to pick up our tree. After much deliberation…
A quick game of hide and seek…
A brief look at what was on offer…
and we finally settled on the perfect little tree…
In my book, there’s only one way to decorate a Christmas tree – and that’s gathering all your friends, making gingerbread, serving up some mulled wine and mince pies and playing Christmas songs (try this Spotify playlist)
The addition of the tree to our living room has made it feel so festive and cosy- being on the sofa with every one and watching Harry Potter, whilst writing up various posts for the week, it seems impossible that tomorrow heralds the start of a new week in a busy, but festive, London…
