Moniko

Hey there! I’ve got the coolest company to tell you about…I was gifted this beautiful bag by my sister-in-law and brother on their return home for Christmas from Singapore.

Lucy runs The Boutique Society (and also writes this rather lovely blog) , so it’s always worth having a look to see what great independent brands she’s discovered on her travels.

Moniko is such a beautiful concept; they take vintage kimonos and repurpose them in to beautiful accessories and clutches.

The bag itself is so beautiful; the fabric is so luxurious and I love that it’s a tiny, beautiful slice of history. This particular piece is recrafted from a Kimono – and you’ll be doing good when you purchase a piece of history as the artisans behind Moniko are from self-help and NGOs in South East Asia. Just look at the detail on it…

All in all these bags truly tick all the boxes; you do good, they look beautiful, they’re vintage and they’re a tiny piece of beautiful history. What more could you want?

An extra special thank you to my sister-in-law and brother for this beautiful present. You can purchase your own piece of history, here.
