Every now and then, you need to get out of the city, get to somewhere that internet coverage is patcy (at best), phone signal is completely lacking and in place of the echo of constant rattling and clunking tubes, is the distant running of a stream…
My family all agreed that this is exactly what we needed. It’s tricky finding a house that will house six children, 1 dog, and 8 adults… That’s where Tregulland comes in. We found Tregulland through Wow House Company, but Bonnie who welcomed us to the flat told us that recently Tregulland has expanded, and added a couple of other properties to their name.
Back to our weekend away; the cottages are self-catering, so we packed up the cars, and a sad-looking Max sat by the bags (if his beds not there he tends to think he’s not coming for the adventure). Much to relief he was lifted into the car and we begun our trip down to our Cornish haven…
Turning in to a narrow country lane, the rain hammering down, we hooked a sharp right at a large marble stone with ‘Tregulland’ embossed in gold on it.
Bonnie greeted us and gave us the grand tour – showing us around all the facilities such as the fresh water swimming pool, the beautiful woodburners and the cinema room.
One by one the rest of the clan arrived and we ventured out in to the grounds. The house has a treasure hunt already set up, where you can fill the last box with treasure for little ones – or if you fancy, you can just do as a nature trail.
We ventured down to the stream – I was desperate to hop on to the tyre swing, but the torrential rain from the night before meant it was impossible to get across. Just perfect to splash around in in the hot summer months though!
Wandering up to the hill, we stopped to take a look out across the lake and take in the rolling hills.
Soon enough, the clouds began to roll in overhead, so we headed over to the swimming pool where we swam lengths and lengths, and the kids jumped happily in and out to their hearts content…
As the sun dropped behind the big hill, we showered and headed back to the house, ready for a big bowl of Dad’s home made chicken cacciatore by the fire. The perfect start to an amazing weekend…
Unfortunately, Tregulland is booked out for the rest of the year, however, the owners have just acquired two new properties which you can rent from February 2017 – Check out their website here
Have you been to Cornwall?

Max’s little face is just the cutest thing, I couldn’t imagine leaving him behind, bless him! It’s great to have found a place that will house your entire family and that dogs are welcome too! Your photos of the landscape are stunning, I really want a go on that rope swing, I’m still a kid at heart hehe! The pool looks like the perfect place to lounge around as well! Thank you for sharing this with us, I’m not surprised that the property is all booked up for the rest of 2017!

Ha yes, he’s definitely got that super-cute-puppy-dog-eyes thing locked down!
The landscape was so calming, it was really lovely to be around it! And yes, I was gutted the stream was overflowing as I would have hopped straight across and hopped on otherwise!

Oh this looks exactly my kind of place; long county walks, a refreshing swim and cuddling up next to the fire with a big plate of food!! I love your photos xx
