I’m a strange one – on holiday, and on weekends, I’ll set an alarm for 7.30am / 8 – although its rare that I won’t wake before it. Luckily for me, Kelda is the same, so when I crept downstairs in the morning, the doors were wide open and, luckily for me, the sun was up.
With a fresh pot of coffee, I decided to relax and write. I was quickly joined by Herb, one of Kelda and Mike’s cats. He seemed pretty intrigued – or perhaps offended – that I was busy writing, so he soon put a stop to that, but with a face like that, I couldn’t resist.
Friday was an exploration day. We started in another little local cafe, with coffees (I was positively ridiculed for having a latte instead of a strong coffee 😉 ). Full of pastry and caffeine, we walked up and round to the supermarket, with locals who were busy tending gardens who would stop to say Bongiorno as we walked past.
The views as we meandered were just stunning. Having stopped in at the shops, it was time to drive on to our first stop of the day – another village Penna San Giovanni … Another beautiful pit stop, rustic and quiet with breathtaking views. Out across the mountains and then, walking up and up the cobbled streets, we stopped off for more prosecco and nibbles…
We took a drive down to Servigliano, where we stepped into a quiet square to indulge in yet MORE prosecco, and some amazing nibbles too – meats and cheeses and caprese salad, AND the best ice cream EVER…
We took lunch a little easier, and paced ourselves a little more today as wine tasting beckoned in the afternoon…
But more on that another time… 😉

Oh it was sooo good! I’ll post about it in the next couple of days! Thank you so much for your lovely comment about the photos – the scenery was so breathtaking, it was hard not to spend all my time snapping away!

I’m still so so jealous of this trip! How beautiful is the scenery?! Now that I’ve tried Italian gelato, no other ice cream or gelato stands up to it! I love Italian coffee shops as well, the pastries are always incredible – I have no idea how Italian women can stay so skinny, I would be the size of a balloon if I lived there full time! Can’t wait to hear about the wine tasting!

Oh it was such a beautiful place, I desperately wish I was back there!
I know right! I kind of just want to move there, live in a beautiful converted barn and eat all the pastry on offer 😉
Thank you for your lovely comment
