Indonesian Travel Diary – Motel Mexicola & Bodyworks Spa

If you’ve read this blog for a while now, you’ll know one of my all time favourite things to do is head to the spa for a day. We’d caught wind of an amazing little place in the heart of Seminyak…

Bodyworks spa is exactly how I imagine heaven to look. You walk in and it’s beautiful colours and bright walls, secluded treat rooms with no other noise than the sound of trees rustling in the courtyard.

We decided the perfect way to shake off a day or so of flying each, was to book in for a full body massage – 90 mins of total bliss.

We were each shown to our rooms which were kitted out with baths (should you opt for one of their massages which finishes with a flower bath!) and a shower.

The rooms are beautifully rustic and simple and these beauticians really know what they’re doing! I don’t think L or I have ever felt so relaxed in our life. All for the pricey sum of… £30! We also opted for some additional treatments – I had the loveliest pedicure, and L opted for a gel manicure.

We sat blissfully in the courtyard, enjoying the peace and quiet and sat in perfectly companionable silence. I can honestly say, I’ve never been so relaxed in my life.

Bodyworks is probably one of the best spas I’ve been too and I highly recommend you add it to your Bali bucket list!

And, if you’re in the area you should totally check out the uber instagrammable Motel Mexicola; a Mexican restaurant right opposite Bodyworks. This venue would be a great stop on a night out, to grab a bite to eat and indulge in a margarita or three!

We decided that we’d head to Motel Mexicola before our spa treatments, so we laid off the Booze and opted for one of their delicious mocktails, grabbed some nachos to share and also ordered what we thought were tacos, but when they appeared was one, singular taco (LOL).

It’s the coolest little place, and definitely worth a stop in – just be sure to order multiples of everything 😉

A walk-in appt at Bodyworks Spa is hugely unlikely – def book before you go: Head here for contact details.

Motel Mexicola on the other hand is pretty quiet during the day, but book if you prefer to walk on the safe side of things – you can book online here.

Let me know if you drop in to either place!

These places look super cute and unique. I’m new to the spa world having only experienced my first massage about a month ago but I’m hoping to try more out in the future.

Hope you’re having an amazing time!

You look so beautiful and chilled in that photo, you’re practically floating on air hehe! I am not surprised after this heavenly experience, I love the rustic interior (and the flower bath tucked in the corner – how cute?!) and the bright and colourful decor! I can’t believe that you got a 90 minute massage for just £30 as well, I need to get myself to Indonesia!! You certainly couldn’t get that in the UK! The mocktails that you had afterwards look so refreshing, shame about the single taco – if you didn’t eat it Lady and the Tramp style with L then that was a missed opportunity hehe! So glad that you had such a rejuvenating day here, you deserve it after how hard you’ve been working!!

Hahaha I was super relaxed! I totally loved the bath in the corner I regret not getting the flower bath! I know, its so cheap out there, I just want to go back for two weeks and do nothing but get massages ;-). also the single taco incident was hilarious … I did offer L lady and the tramp styles dining but she declined!
Thank you for your lovely comment as always xxx
