I’m half and half. I love the countryside (I grew up in the sticks), but since moving to London three years ago, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else “home”…
That said, every now and then, when I’m in London, I get the itch for a bit of fresh air, some nice green space and to take a breather from the sound of constant public transport…
Bishops Park is a hop, skip and a bus ride away from me. I took the opportunity to work from home, and by happy coincidence one of my blogger besties was also free, so I met Hels and the adorable Dougie, for a stroll round and a nice chat.
We jumped in leaves, went duck spotting, and strolled around the park until finally it was time to head to the cafe and get a hot chocolate before my lunch hour was out.
Bishops Park have very good play park facilities (well, I think Dougie thought so anyway!), and the cafe is sweet (although seating is limited and weekends it tends to get a bit overwhelmed).
Word to the wise – they take cash only, too, so don’t forget some (new!) pound coins for ice cream π
I positively love this time of year; clear blue sky days, leaves to jump in and crunch, and the perfect excuse to get out the house and get a hot chocolate. And eat a donut too (thank YOU Hels!) – diet? Nah, not in Winter!
The hour whizzed by far too quickly, I could have happily hung out with Hels and Dougie all day, but sadly work beckoned, so we parted ways and I crunched my way back to the bus stop happily basking in Autumn sun!
Do you love Autumn? Where are your favourite places that don’t feel like London?

I had the loveliest lunch with you! It was such a beautiful autumnal day too and it was fun exploring a park we hadn’t been to before! Dougie was definitely a fan of the playground – mainly walking you round it though!
Richmond Park is somewhere that never feels like London, also Crystal Palace park and Brockwell Park near me are absolutely lovely and you completely forget you’re in the city!

Amazing looking donuts! Lovely pic of you two girlies too. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Bishop’s Park, looks lovely and very autumnal!
I loved seeing these photos on both yours and Hels’ Instagram so happy you wrote a blog post about it. Looks like a beautiful park. What a lovely way to spend your lunch break!

Living in London my whole life and I still donβt think Iβve been to this park but I can imagine with autumn, it must be so nice! Glad you had a lovely hour with Hels, what a great way to start your day before work!

This does indeed look like the perfect place for a stroll! The scenery is just gorgeous in the autumn, and it looks like Dougie had a fantastic time exploring too! Definitely jealous of those doughnuts, they look amazing! I only tried a Krispy Kreme for the first time a couple of months ago haha! I wish I lived closer so that I could’ve come along too! Can’t wait to hang out with you again this weekend!!

Aww this sounds like the perfect place to have a little date, especially with the lovely Hels and little Dougie! I adore Autumn, especially the leaves and the chill in the air, the perfect reason to wrap up all warm and snuggly! x x

Those doughnuts look so good!
I love London. It was hard to move back home after living there. It’s so bustling and busy! And I liked all the parks there.
Must have been fab to meet up and enjoy the Autumn weather in the park, sounds like fun! I love this time of year too. Those donuts look delicious, the icing is so cute!
Only visiting London a few times in my life, it’s so easy to forget that there is some greenery there! I tend to go shopping, to see musicals or do all the touristy stuff so live on the tube! I love that you can go for a wander during your lunch hour too! Sounds like the pair of you had a lovely time and how cute is Dougie?

Bishops Park looks so lovely. I love a big wide park to wonder around in and taking in all the wildlife and nature around you is bliss.
I love Autumn too! Missing it so much already as the winter season is taking over!

This looks like such a lovely, autumnal day. I love the photos in this post, and reading it made me really happy! Iβm from the country too, and I donβt like spending too much time in cities, so itβs nice to know that you have this wonderful park so close by to you!
